Construction on the futuristic Pier 55 Park has officially begun.
City Club of New York argued it was illegal for the Hudson River Park Trust to give away park space to build an amphitheater. But a Manhattan Court ruled it would fast track appeal consideration and would allow the Trust to begin preliminary construction to meet its goal for the season.
