NYC Traffic Rule 4-15(j) states that the total length of a trailer truck from front to back should be no longer than 55 feet. Because the front cabs of these trucks are always longer than 2 feet, this means that trailers that have 53 foot long trailer sections are all illegal and should not be on the NYC streets. One citizen vigilante has taken to social media to call out the violators of this traffic rule under the Twitter handles @illegal53NYC and @ConradGangone

It may seem trival and and oddly specific violation to call out, but our small, crowded City streets and tight corners are not setup to handle these large trailers, often leading to damaged vehicles, signs, infrastructure, and even worse, pedestrian and biker injuries and/or casualties.
