Rikers: An American Jail is an award-winning, full-length documentary from filmmaker Bill Moyers that focuses on former detainees of Rikers Island recounting their experiences while imprisoned there. Out of these testimonials comes a searing account of the deep-seated culture of systemic violence and corruption that has plagued the notorious NYC jail for decades add a powerful authentic voice to investigative journalism that has reported on violence and abuses at the jail.
