A decade ago, the entire worldwide population of the Blue Iguana was fewer than 20 individual animals, and many experts thought it was destined for extinction. With hard preservation and conservation work by groups like the Wildlife Conservation Society and more, the Blue Iguana population is now on the way to recovery with about 1,000 individuals worldwide.
