Check Out These 2nd Avenue Subway Test Trains Moving Through the Stations

Local transit historian and railfan Dj Hammers makes tons of great videos showing how subway transit works and runs in the City. In this recent upload to YouTube, Dj Hammers captures the MTA testing out some empty Q Trains running through the new 2nd Avenue Subway stations on the Upper East Side, set to open on January 1st.

As of today, non-revenue testing of the Second Avenue Subway is underway. This entails running the normal Q schedule up to 96th St, with trains running without passengers north of 57th St. This is part of the aggressive testing schedule that Governor Cuomo has prompted the MTA to put in place to ensure that the line is finished quickly and efficiently.
