Coffee Beans Roasted, Ground and Brewed on Demand at Roasting Plant

Roasting Plant is a modern coffee shop in New York City that, through a machine called Javabot, allows you to make customized drinks on demand. When you walk in to place an order, the first think you notice are dozens of tubes running all around the shop, connecting vats of raw beans, roasted beans, a roaster and a grinder. You tell the barista you want 1/4 Sumatran, 1/4 Columbian and 1/2 Indonesian, then the beans start flying through the tubes making it happen.

Javabot is the central control system that allows us to roast on site, measure and deliver them in any combination that suits a customer, on demand. You walk through the door of a Roasting Plant, and you find yourself in the middle of a big coffee machine.

Roasting Plant currently has 2 New York City locations. The original is at 81 Orchard Street in the Lower East Side, and a newer location opened about a year ago on 75 Greenwich Avenue in the West Village of Manhattan.
