Stock photos are often used in advertisements, webpages and other marketting materials where the designers are on a budget and can't spring for a photographer and actors to
make the exact photo they need. As such, there is such a wide array of stock photographs available that apply to almost any situation, many of them bizarre and very, very weird.
WNYC recently noticed that many of these stock photograph sites seemed out of touch with New Yorkers as we tend to have a different daily routine than most other places… so they decided to make their own New Yorker Stock Photos.
