Iconic shoe-makers Converse recently did some brilliant bits of anti-advertising that ended up going viral for the company. They reproduced some of the most well-known skate spots in New York City, Los Angeles and Boston, then recreated them in the other cities for local skaters to try out.
In skateboarding, the spots are as iconic as the skaters. But if the spot isn't in your city? Well, you'll never get a chance to skate it. So we took three legendary spots coast to coast [...] The spots brought out the best skaters in each city.
According to Converse, it was covered in all major press, acclaimed by competitors and shared millions of times on social media, but the goal of the non-campaign was only to impress skaters, and that aspect was wildly successful.
