Help Bring a Full Scale Vinyl Record Pressing Plant to Brooklyn

Whether you blame it on audiophiles or hipsters, there is a resurgence of vinyl record sales in recent years, doubling from 2013 to 2014, with the trend continuing upwards.

Brooklyn Vinyl Works is a new vinyl press plant in Brooklyn which needs help getting off the ground.

We are in the process of building a first-rate pressing plant that will run 24 hours a day in Brooklyn, New York and expect to be up and running, pressing records this July. One of our main goals will be finding and restoring used, out-of-service record pressing equipment. That equipment will be overhauled by our team of expert technicians and put back in service to manufacture records once again.

A Kickstarter campaign started by Will Socolov, a seasoned producer and record exec that co-founded the house, disco and hip hop label Sleeping Bag Records, hopes to secure funding to operate the press.

The campaign is about 50% of the way to it's $100k goal with only 4 days left to fund. Backers get a variety of rewards from free vinyl to 1k vinyl runs for your own music.
