The team at GO New York Tours recently created this interesting infographic showing how the population and population density of New York City compares to other cities and countries around the world. Check it out!
[…] the Big Apple is home to 8.6 million people in an area of only a bit more than 300 square miles. The population density of NYC (27,013 people per square mile) dwarfs most other metropolitan areas of the United States. And if you only look at the population density of Manhattan (69,468 people per square mile), it still dwarfs other famously packed places internationally, such as Paris and Hong Kong. However, cities like Manila (171,301 people per square mile) and Phnom Penh (193,730 people per square mile) dwarf the Big Apple’s density!
