Local Charity Collects and Distributes 103,000 Coats to Needy New York City Residents

Local charity group New York Cares is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and also the City's largest volunteer management organization. Started in the 1980's by a small group of friends, the group now runs volunteer programs for over 1,300 nonprofits, city agencies, and public schools. This winter, as part of their annual Coat Drive, New York Cares collected, organized and distributed over 103,000 coats to New York City residents in need.
