Long Awaited Lowline Lab Opens Doors to Public This Weekend

The Lowline is an urban enrichment program that plans to place a naturally lit underground park in the Lower East Side of Manhattan.

Originally based on the success of the The High Line, co-founders Dan Barasch and James Ramsey have been planning the park for several years. Check out Dan's excellent Ted Talk on the project.

Starting this Saturday, October 17th, the Lowline Lab will open its doors to the public on weekends from noon to 6pm, allowing anybody to see the lighting system and a proof-of-concept in action for the first time.

Check the website for more information.
