The Scimitar-Horned Oryx is a species of North African antelope that has been extinct in the wild for over a decades due to hunting and poaching for their horns.
Only about 6,000 oryxes live in captivity, and now there is one more. Meet Felipe, a baby scimitar-horned oryx who was recently born at the Staten Island Zoo.
You can visit Felipe during normal zoo hours at the Sahara Habitat.
