MTA Announces "Operation Track Sweep", a Multi-Part Initiative to Clean Up NYC Subway Tracks

You may have seen one of the MTA's special vacuum trains chugging through a station in the past, but be prepared to see a lot more of them in the near future.

Dubbed "Operation Track Sweep", the MTA recently announced a multi-part initiative to keep tracks cleaner, involving a massive cleanup, special portable trash vacs, and 3 new vacuum trains coming next year.

Trash on the subway tracks causes fires -- and fires cause train delays. Help us keep the subways clean and learn about how we're fighting trash. Operation Track Sweep: it's a fresh start for all of us.
