Neighborhood Slice Explores Williamsburg's Annual Giglio Feast

Neighborhood Slice is a web series that tells the stories about your neighborhood from the people who have been there the longest. In this episode, the show covers the Giglio Feast in Williamsburg, an annual tradition dating back to 1903.

Every July since 1903, the streets of Williamsburg are home to the Giglio Feast; a rare constant in this rapidly evolving Brooklyn neighborhood. Sonny Mangone grew up with the Feast and explains what it takes to make a 4-ton statue ‘dance.’
