The newest exhibit at the Shore Line Trolly Museum in New Haven, Connecticut is an important piece of New York City history from the tragic events of 9/11.
745 was at the front of a seven-car PATH train that left Hoboken, N.J., at 8:42 a.m. on the Sept. 11, 2001. Pulling into the World Trade Center station's Track 3 at 8:52 that same morning, passengers on the car may have had no idea about the events happening overhead. Six minutes before its arrival, a jetliner struck the WTC's North Tower. Everyone was evacuated from the station, and Car 745 wasn't uncovered until days later.
After sitting for nearly 15 years in a JFK Airport hangar, the PATH car was recently donated to the museum and has been left in its orignal state.
