Sing for Hope is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that brings dynamic arts outreach programming to under-resourced communities throughout NYC.
Their Pop-up Pianos program has been in the City every summer since 2010 and consists of 88 painted pianos being placed in public spaces all around the 5 boroughs. People are encouraged to play as much as they want for a few weeks, then before they are taken away, the 88 pianos are placed together in Lincoln Center for a massive interactive public art installation.
If you haven't seen a pop-up piano yet, hurry out to one of the 88 locations Citywide as they are only dispersed around the City until Sunday, June 21st, after which you can only see/play them in Lincoln Center.
