The George Washington Bridge connecting New Jersey and Manhattan is the world's busiest motor vehicle bridge according to the Port Authority. With so much traffic, keeping up with repairs and ensuring the bridge stays in top structural shape takes priority, with aesthetic features often taking the back burner. Despite each of the steel towers fitted with massive lighting, they are only turned on for random holidays here and there, unannounced. New York photographer Dark Cyanide recently snapped these photos of the bridge in it's full illumination.
