Located in the Hunter's Point neighborhood of Long Island City, Sugarcube Dessert & Coffee Bar is a small shop that is turning architectural concepts into edible art.
Sugarcube was launched by multi-talented CUNY architecture professor, designer, and chocolatier Peter Zaharatos only a few months ago, but has already established itself as a premiere artisanal chocolate shop.
With a heavy influence from his architectural background, Zaharatos turns conceptual drawings and sketches into 3D printed models, then makes silicone casts from them, coats the inside with edible paint, and pours tempered chocolate in to create beautiful and unique bars of chocolate, each with its own story.
Aside from the incredible chocolate bars, Sugarcube also boasts fresh Gelato made nearly every day (they have no storage freezer!), delicious coffee and tea beverages. The dessert shop can also boast a near perfect rating on both Yelp and Facebook.
Sugarcube is located just steps away from the Vernon-Jackson 7 Train subway station in Queens.
