Real Estate website RENTCafé recently crunched their numbers on what $1,500 will get you for living space in the top cities around the world and found—to nobody's surprise—that New York City has the least amount of space with 277 square feet. Topping the list was Istanbul with 1,899 square feet, almost 7 times as large for the same price.
It might be hard to picture this, so here’s something easier: the size of an apartment in Istanbul equals the size of seven hypothetical Manhattan apartments you’d rent for $1,500/month.
