Summer Streets is an annual event in Manhattan where cars are banned from on Lafayette St. and Park Ave. for three Saturday mornings in August. This allows continuous walking, biking, roller blading or running from City Hall up to 72nd Street without having to worry about being mowed down by a taxi.
