Circus Sideshow (1887–88) is a celebrated painting from French artist Georges Seurat that was painted during an era where the intended viewing environment was most likely one lit by gaslight. As such, the Metropolitan Museum is doing away with the bright museum lights in favor of Gaslight to present the painting as likely intended.
