Manhattan's Union Square is home to a large set of 15 LED digits in constant motion. Tourists and locals alike pass by in wonderment, trying to decipher the meaning behind the art installation. Is it counting how many people are in Union Square? The national debt? How much Hamilton tickets currently cost?!?
The mysterious digits actually form a functional clock that was created by artists Kristin Jones and Andrew Ginzel. The clock is called "The Passage" and is one third of a public art installation called Metronome. It has been in Union Square since 1999. Watch our video above to see how to decipher the time out of the clock.
