The Flatiron Building opened in 1902 and is one of the most significant architectural wonders in New York City.
In this vintage photograph from 1905, just 3 years after its opening, we are looking East down 23rd Street towards a towering Flatiron Building, with a snow covered street with horse drawn carriages and trollies lined up on the side. For comparison, here is a Google Streetview of the same shot 115 years later:
