A few weeks back, we told you all about the rare once-every-ten-years bloom of the stinky corpse flower at the New York Botanical Garden in The Bronx.
The flower took a bit longer to fully bloom than thought, but luckily the New York Botanical Garden had the foresight to setup a time lapse of the flower's two-week bloom and collapse, allowing us to see it all in just a 3-minute video.
The July 2016 bloom of our corpse flower (Amorphophallus titanum) was a momentous event, and the first flowering of the plant we've had since 1939. This time lapse covers the week leading up to the bloom and collapse.
