Local transit historian and railfan Dj Hammers makes tons of great videos showing how subway transit works and runs in the City.
Hammers recently got a chance to film a long length of the F subway line, as seen by the front car's motorman through the front window of a vintage 1930s R1 train. It's a fantastic look at the tunnels, some elevated track in Brooklyn, and a side of the subway system that we rarely get to see.
The museum R1 cars have a front window that passengers can see out of. Quite the view!! This video was taken on a museum train excursion that visited Coney Island. Tickets for excursions like this are available on the NY Transit Museum's website.
