[WATCH] Here's How Chef Nasim Alikhani Created Brooklyn’s Premier Persian Restaurant

Sofreh is a recently-opened, upscale Persian food restaurant in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn which has quickly become one of the best representatives of Persian cuisine in New York City. In this episode of the excellent Eat Seeker series from our friends at Thrillist, peek inside, see the menu, and learn how/why chef Nasim Alikhani opened the restaurant with her husband this past year.

When Chef Nasim Alikhani returned to her home country of Iran after a 9-year gap she quickly realized how much she missed the incredible food she had grown up eating. The food was vibrant and bright, and she thought how crazy it was that more people didn’t know about the delicacies of tahdig and kofteh in saffron broth. At her restaurant Sofreh, in Brooklyn Chef hopes to educate the people of New York about Persian food and its culture.
