Local pro photographers James and Karla Murray have a YouTube series in which they explore neighborhoods around New York City from their unique perspective. Obviously, their normal video tours have been suspended due to the Coronavirus pandemic, but in this recent video, watch as they give you a walk through of a ghost-town-like World Trade Center Oculus and the surrounding area.
We walk with our dog during the Pandemic Lockdown in New York to the Oculus at the World Trade Center in downtown Manhattan. We go inside the Oculus, designed by the Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, and look at its impressive architecture consisting of white ribs that interlock high above the ground. We see the empty floors which house part of the Westfield World Trade Center mall. We also walk around the empty streets surrounding the World Trade Center and the 9/11 Memorial & Museum. In addition we go inside the Fulton Center, which connects to the World Trade Center transportation hub, the fifth-busiest transportation hub in the New York metropolitan area.
