The bacon, egg and cheese sandwich is a New York staple, commonly found at corner bodegas for less than $5. But lately, artisanal BEC sandwiches have been popping up on high-end menus and at gourmet specialty shops across the city, begging the question: how much is too much for this convenience store staple?
